Isabella 淑娇 Falsetti

Isabella is an award-winning photojournalist based on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Coast Salish Peoples commonly known as Vancouver, BC.

She got her start in journalism as a staff photographer at the University of British Columbia’s student newspaper, The Ubyssey, where she went on to become the photo editor. She received a BA in geography, environment and sustainability along with a minor in Chinese language and culture.

As a Chinese adoptee with a passion for visual storytelling, Isabella is particularly interested in telling stories relating to multicultural identity, the environment and social justice. She relies on compelling visuals, respect and an enduring sense of curiosity to drive her work.

Her images have appeared in The Globe and Mail, Bloomberg News, The Narwhal, Cascadia Daily News, and The Georgia Straight. She is currently working on expanding a photo project about Asian adoptees in Metro Vancouver.
